The object of this course is to review the dynamics of the doctor/patient relationship and emphasize the benefits of maintaining the professional aspects of that relationship.

By reviewing the issues associated with the doctor / patient relationship doctors will be better able to recognize some of the pitfalls they may encounter in day to day associations with patients and more readily avert situations that may lead to inappropriate situations which could result in bad feelings or even potential law suits.

The second hour of this course is devoted to recognizing the often hidden signs of elder abuse. Doctors will learn of the quiet epidemic that frequently has to be a major concern to our elderly. Doctors will be able to see and understand the subtle signs of elder abuse while keeping the dignity of their elderly patients in tact.

Doctors will also be provided with a comprehensive check list of the different signs and types of elder abuse in order to recognize the early stages and to help patients avoid potential tragedies.
